Bird on a Wire
A recent Garden Route Tour which involved many highlights, (not least of which saw my clients and I leaping off a very high bridge), also allowed us the opportunity to connect with some fantastic industry partners. The Cango Wildlife Ranch and Cheetah Preservation Foundation were certainly highlights and worthy of support, but special praise must certainly go to Burghard Powel who owns Boogie Restaurant at Knysna River Club, the setting, food and friendly service made a really positive impact on our customers and we will certainly be back soon.
Connecting Classrooms, an overseas group which we host annually, perform excellent work by educating teachers and engaging with young people in rural schools. We enjoyed a tremendous tour together, travelling to remote schools as far flung as Beaufort West, all the way through to De Doorns. Apart from wonderful encounters with the various schools, we also experienced memorable excursions with highlights being the Karoo National Park and the Patat Fees in Napier where we enjoyed a wine tasting with Kajo Malek of Black Oyster Catcher Wines.
I would like to make mention of two organizations that we at African Hoopoe Tours are proud to support, namely SAYTC for their good work in promoting S.A to the youth travel sector and UR Card, a prepaid debit card for travellers in S.A. www.urcard.co.za
Last but not least a big thank-you to Craig Bennet from Cape Canopy Tours for assisting us in realising a successful marketing drive/ educational, which included an exilerating zipline excursion as well as a seperately sponsored wine tasting and snacks for our local agents.
Please feel free to mail us with any queries relating to the above mentioned suppliers and organizations. Happy Travels!
