Get in touch with our cultures.
Weather and ocean conditions permitting we board the ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for his role in the struggle.
We visit the SA Museum to be formally introduced to the Cape’s many cultures. We will also visit the District Six Museum and Bo-Kaap, the traditional home of the Cape Malay population to gain some insight into their Eastern roots.
After this tour you will have a good understanding of why the struggle started, how Islam reached South Africa and how the many cultures including the Europeans came to settle here.
Should weather preclude us from taking the ferry to Robben Island, we will arrange an authentic township tour as an alternative.
